PD DAY – There is no school for students as teachers have a professional learning day on Friday 19th and Monday is a statutory holiday (Victoria Day).  Have a great and safe May long weekend.

LIBRARY NEWS – Thank you to all students, staff and parents who purchased items at the book fair.  We made about $1500 which will be invested in new books.

SPEECHES – The annual division two  speech competition will be held in the gym at 9:00 May 16.  All students in grades 4-6 worked very hard on a speech and presented it in class  Two finalists from each class will compete for top prize before a panel of guest judges.  Parents are invited to attend.

GRADE 4 CAMP – The grade 4s from WRSD Drayton Valley schools will attend a one day get-together at Camp Warwa on May 23 as a means of getting to know one another and transitioning to the HWP Middle School.  Thank you to the AIM for Success Team for putting this together.

PAC-AGM – The Aurora PAC will meet on May 23 at 6:30 in the library.  It is the last meeting of the year and will include a year end report and appointment/election of officers for next year.  Next year’s families, including all the new folks from Evergreen, are encouraged to attend and get involved.

AURORA GARDEN – The Aurora garden could use some parent volunteers, especially over the summer months.  Contact Ms. Heather Barry at 705-542-9355 or heather.barry@wrsd.ca if you can spare some time.
